Administration

The formal language of Grace Administration ministry is this: (from Grace's 2008-2010 Strategic Plan)

Grace will increase its organizational functionality and its financial capacity to more fully support its identity and mission ministries. (Administration Ministry)

Tactics (Actions)
  • We will seek an equitable relationship with one or more organizations to help Grace not only serve the community but also to share the cost for improving and maintaining the building
  • We will reorganize, to include updating our constitution so that the form of our structure efficiently supports the functions of our ministries
  • We will identify our congregational values
  • We will clarify ministry expectations and work to identify people's gifts for ministry and work to empower them in using those gifts
  • We will be intentional about the financial commitment to support Grace

The informal explanation about Grace's Administration ministry, as it is today - the 2009 church year - follows:
Administration ministry for Grace is about all the behind the scene work that needs to happen as an organization to support the Mission and Identity Ministries of the households of Grace.
The Administration ministry, also, handles all inquires and manages the use of the building by other people, organizations such as community choirs and people who want to use the Grace Sanctuary for their wedding.

The challenge for this year is evolving an intentional support system for all those who give of their time / volunteer to make Grace happen, and building an organizational structure that is intentional about Grace's size and its ministries of Identity and Mission. Within Grace, this process is referred to as "changing the engines of the airplane in mid flight".

The proposed and working structure and the key people that make Grace work are found Grace's Leadership page.

The Administration Ministry is lead by a group of people (paid staff and volunteers) and Team Leader Lynn McClelland. Please contact her for more information about this ministry. Please also check out This Week at Grace, Grace's weekly email announcement.
