Mission

The formal language of Grace Mission ministry is this:

Grace will work to strengthen its relationships, as a not-for-profit organization and as individual households, with community partners to increase the delivery of needed services (Mission Ministry)

Tactics (Actions)

The informal explanation about Grace's Mission ministry, as it is today (the 2009 church year) follows:

Mission for Grace, is about individual (households) serving in the larger community of Greater Cleveland and the World, and Grace, as an (institution) serving those beyond the households of Grace.

The Mission Team, lead by Mark Brauer is leading Grace in evolving a way to do ministry that focuses on giving each household of Grace through individual and small group action, ways to serve the community. The team helps to identify opportunities at the local, national and international level and encourages households to serve, to invite others to join in service, to act and to report back to the larger community of Grace about their actions, their fears about acting and the personal surprises, joys and growth that occur when people of God offer themselves in service.

The Mission Team also leads the institution/Grace Community as a whole in service to the greater community. For this year, the focus is twofold, one on working with other institutions to address elder housing needs focused on offering the building/the premises of the Grace building (but for the sanctuary) to be re-created to provide housing and services. It also is working with local Cleveland Heights Churches to provide (Community Making Meals.) These meals are offered the last Wednesday of each month.
