Grace Lutheran Church, (ELCA)
2008, 2009 and 2010 Strategic Ministry Plan
(Approved September 14, 2008)

Vision Statement: Making Christ Relevant to All.

Mission Statement: The people of Grace Lutheran seek to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ: embrace and value the diversity of God's people; and, gather to engage in spiritual growth, social justice, service and celebration.

Congregational Values: (yet defined)

Strategic Expectations for 2008/9/10: Grace will work to strengthen the relationships of its members to God, each other and the world through "state of the art" methodology. (Identity Ministry)
    Tactics (Actions)
  • We will offer whole congregation worship, education and fellowship activities on Sunday mornings that are intergenerational whenever possible
  • We will develop and support a system for small group ministry so to assist households in deepening relationships and choosing which educational and service opportunities to pursue
  • We will encourage every household to be intentional about their faith development, including its "investment" of time and money into the ministries of Grace
Grace will work to strengthen its relationships, as a not-for-profit organization and as individual households, with community partners to increase the delivery of needed services (Mission Ministry)
    Tactics (Actions)
  • We will work to partner institutionally with one or more financially capable service organization/s to address a long-term community need. (Needs currently identified are affordable housing for the elderly, day care for children or the elderly, Arts/Performance Center)
  • We, institutionally, will work to have at least two events (worship/fellowship/service) with, and on behalf of, community members
  • We will develop a system to support service/charitable actions by small groups
Grace will increase its organizational functionality and its financial capacity to more fully support its identity and mission ministries. (Administration Ministry)
    Tactics (Actions)
  • We will seek an equitable relationship with one or more organizations to help Grace not only serve the community but also to share the cost for improving and maintaining the building
  • We will reorganize, to include updating our constitution so that the form of our structure efficiently supports the functions of our ministries
  • We will identify our congregational values
  • We will clarify ministry expectations and work to identify people's gifts for ministry and work to empower them in using those gifts
  • We will be intentional about the financial commitment to support Grace
