Congratulations on your engagement! What an exciting time of anticipation and planning!
We are booking weddings for non-members through December 31, 2014.
[singlepic id=118 w=320 h=240 float=left] We are pleased that you are considering Grace Lutheran Church for your wedding ceremony. A wedding service is actually a worship service – a couple’s declaration before God and the community of faith that they are committed to each other and seeking God’s blessing of their union. It is the sincere wish of the staff at Grace that you have a wonderful wedding day filled with fond memories and followed by a deeply satisfying marriage. However, special days and lasting relationships just don’t happen. They require thought, preparation and commitment. To assist you in planning your wedding ceremony at Grace Lutheran Church, here are a few quick guidelines (more detailed instructions can be found in the Wedding Handbook). We wish you God’s peace and love as you embark on a new journey in life together. [singlepic id=125 w=320 h=240 float=right]
Your ceremony is important and deserves careful planning and preparation. Your first step is to check the church’s calendar to select a date, contact Deb Rutledge, the Wedding Coordinator, and secure the date with an initial deposit of $500 (which is in addition to the wedding fee, much as a security deposit). Weddings must be booked at least six months in advance to allow time for permarital counseling with the pastor (or officiating clergy). If outside clergy will officiate, proof of counseling is required.
The Wedding Coordinator
Your first point of contact is the Wedding Coordinator, who will assist you through the entire planning process. You can contact Deb Rutledge, Grace’s Wedding Coordinator at (216) 321-2790 ext. 13 or by email. Deb acts as a liaison, guiding hand and reference book for the wedding couple concerning the wedding. She is the link between you and Grace Lutheran Church, and will help you plan a timeline for your wedding day, guide the rehearsal, and much more.
To get started, download the Wedding Handbook, Wedding Registration Form, and the Member or Non-Member Worksheet (links above, if they open but don’t download, right click on the link and “save target as”; if you are using Firefox and can’t download, disable the Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in (and email the church office if you need help with this)). Remember to look at the Grace Calendar page to see if a date is open, and contact our Wedding Coordinator, Deb Rutledge at (216) 321-2790 ext. 13 or by email.
